Gravitate Coworking Cedar Falls Policies and Procedures

Gravitate strives to provide a safe, productive and engaging work environment for its members.

In light of this mission, we ask you to obey the following policies and procedures for working in our Gravitate Coworking space. Failure to obey these policies and procedures can make our facilities dangerous or unwelcoming to others, and such actions on your part may result in your membership being terminated without notice. Please take them seriously. We reserve the right to change these policies and procedures as needed and with sufficient notice to members.

Access: Gravitate Coworking is open during normal business hours. Other times will require key access. See Tara for adding virtual keys to your membership. We use the Proximity app.

Members and guests will abide by the building parking rules. If you need a parking pass, talk to Tara.

Individual and Shared Safety: In a shared and open facility like ours, it is possible for members to accidentally leave doors unlocked or create other unsafe situations for fellow members. Please obey all posted signs and literature pertaining to safe use of our facilities. We have first aid supplies on hand if necessary. There is sanitizer and masks available at our entrance. We appreciate you keeping space between yourself and others during this worldwide pandemic.

Liability: All members and guests are responsible for their own belongings and actions.

Respectful Behavior: In both in-person and electronic interactions, behave respectfully, courteously, and professionally to your fellow members.

No discrimination, harassment, sexual or  otherwise, or hate speech shall be tolerated. We are LGBTQ allys.

Courtesy of Individual Spaces: If you are a member of Gravitate, please attempt to keep your individual space relatively orderly. But by all means, express yourself!

Do not enter any individual workspaces that are not yours without explicit permission.

Courtesy of Shared Spaces: We are not a library, but please keep noise levels to a respectful minimum for the comfort and enjoyment of those in the immediate area. Headphones are great. Our phone booths are perfect for phone calls.

Expect anything said to be heard by others. Nondisclosure of other’s intellectual property is implicit in this space.

As a coworking space we love networking and making connections.

Say hi to your fellow members!

We are dog friendly, but expect the owners to keep an eye on and clean up after their pet. If your dog can be aggresive, please do not bring them in. An added bonus is the dog park right behind our building.

Meeting, Board and Conference Room Usage: Meeting rooms are shared and often demand is high. Please use the online calendar via Proximity to schedule. Email tara@gravitatecoworking.com if you need help.

Release the space as soon as you can. Cancel promptly, if you find you don’t need the space. Tara will especially appreciate it if you tidy up after use.

Events: Events at Gravitate can be public or private. Events support the community building and networking opportunities at Gravitate Coworking as well as attract potential members to enrich our community.

Contact Tara, our Community Manager to reserve.

When food is served at events, please observe the following : The event’s sponsor is responsible for proper handling and serving of food. The kitchen space is not a commercial kitchen. Please do not prepare food there for a public event. Follow local city and state rules for preparing and serving food at public events.  Please clean up the space after use. Pick up the trash. Clean debris from the floors. Vacuum the carpets. If food waste is in the trash, please dispose of trash in the outdoor dumpster. Please store left over food properly and leave a note indicating when it will be picked up or if is to be shared (else it may be scarfed up by other members).
